Zoom555 Announces New Features and Security Enhancements

Designed with the beginner in mind, Zoom555 is the perfect entry-level zoom lens to help you take your first steps in photography. The lens is easy to use and offers the flexibility you need to explore your creative potential.

The 18-55mm focal length range covers a wide range of scenarios from standard wide angle to short telephoto. The wide end of the zoom gives you a very large coverage area, which is great for landscapes or group shots. The telephoto end is great for close ups and portraits. The resulting images are sharp, vibrant and have good contrast.

With the latest update, the zoom functionality is even easier to use. The zoom button now has a new icon and an easy to follow description. The function now also allows you to switch between a zoom and an individual camera feed when on a video call. This helps users to quickly select the best camera angle for their environment.

Zoom555 also announced a few key security enhancements that will improve the privacy of its platform. Users can now disable the ability to show their profile picture in Zoom meetings; account admins can control the visibility of meeting attendees in the list view; and participants’ screen sharing will now default to the host only. Additionally, the report a user option now includes an optional screenshot and can be enabled at the account, group, or individual level for all accounts.

Additionally, Zoom is now encrypting all data in transit with AES 256-bit GCM. This provides greater protection for the security of your Zoom Meeting, Zoom Video Webinar and Zoom Phone data. This encryption will be rolled out to all accounts over the next week. The encrypted status is indicated by a green AES-256 shield in the meeting window and users can click on it to access additional details about the security of their data.

Finally, Zoom has enhanced the ability to see which data center you’re connecting with for your meetings. Meeting hosts can now select a region at the meeting scheduling level for data in transit (data actively moving from one location to another such as across the internet). The Zoom client will display which data center you’re connected to in the Info icon in the upper left.

Other key highlights include an improved UI for ending or leaving a meeting. Specifically, the host can now easily decide whether they want to leave a meeting and have it automatically be ended or simply terminate the current call and then join the incoming call. This is a great feature to have when you’re collaborating with colleagues who are not familiar with Zoom. It makes it much easier to manage calls and protects the privacy of your data. The newest features build on the momentum Zoom built in the last quarter, when they announced that over 3.3 trillion annual minutes of meetings were hosted on their platform.
