Gangnam Ice is a coffee shop in Seoul, Korea that is famous for its shaved ice and waffles. The shop's owner is HyunA, the lead singer of the famous pop group BTS. HyunA's latest single, "Gangnam Style," is a hit in the country, and the ice and waffles have become a popular snack among fans.
PSY's Gangnam Style
South Korean Pop megastar PSY blasted onto the scene in the middle of 2012 with an eye-popping music video and hit single, "Gangnam Style." Since then, the video has become the most-viewed YouTube video in history.
Psy has had five studio albums and a handful of singles. He uses his own P-Nation record label to discover and promote new South Korean artists.
The song's success led to more opportunities for PSY. The singer/rapper had the opportunity to perform at the Grammy Awards in 2012, and the White House to speak about anti-Asian hate crimes. In addition, his video for Gangnam Style played during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Although Psy did not replicate the success of "강남아이스 Style," his music still fills arenas and concerts in his home country. In fact, he's coming to Indonesia for the first time to headline an Oppo Music Festival.
In a YouTube survey conducted from January 1-December 4, PSY's "Gangnam Style" was revealed as the most-viewed video of all time. It's also the most popular video on the site, and the most viewed k-pop video in the world.
HyunA's latest single
HyunA is a K-pop singer and rapper, who has had some hit songs in the past. She is also a former member of the girl group 4minute, but she left the group in order to pursue a solo career.
In recent years, HyunA has become one of the most prominent figures in Korean pop culture, and her sexy and provocative dances have caught the attention of women all over the world. She has also appeared in the "Gangnam Style" music video by South Korean rapper PSY, which garnered over 2 million views on its release day.
After leaving 4minute, HyunA has released three solo singles and a mini-album. Her latest single, titled "Ice Cream," is a rap song with a strong hiphop sound. It features Maboos, who is a member of the electronic group Electroboyz.
HyunA's music video is an all-around sexy affair. Throughout the video, there are sexual innuendos, over-the-top writhing scenes, and cleavage-barring tops.
Gangnam Coffee's waffles and shaved ice
This 4 story modern day coffee house boasts a rooftop terrace for the lucky few who make the trek. The menu includes a nice selection of Asian donuts and teas along with the requisite java, of course. They also make a decent coffee and bread, all of which are baked fresh daily.
If you are looking for a mellow afternoon brew, they may not be the best choice, but if you want a jolt of caffeine in the morning or night, they are an unbeatable option. During the day, they are quiet and the staff are friendly, but at night, they can be a bit rowdy. Luckily, you have to get there early to avoid the crowds and, as a result, you may miss out on a nice time if you are not on the ball. On the flip side, they can be a bit expensive if you don't make the effort. But with a little planning, you can enjoy a cup of coffee without breaking the bank.
Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival
Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival is one of the largest winter festivals in Korea. In fact, it has earned its spot among CNN's 'Seven Winter Wonders'. During the festival, visitors can enjoy ice fishing, sledding, snow bobsleighing, and more.
The event is hosted by Hwacheon County in the Gangwon Province. With an average annual temperature of about minus 22 degrees, the region is one of the coldest in South Korea during the winter months. The county is surrounded by mountains, and is home to around 27,500 people. It is located just a little over an hour from Seoul.
Since its inception in 2003, the event has grown considerably, attracting more than a million visitors each year. In 2006, it was declared COVID-19 (COVID is an acronym for 'Convention on the Vulnerability of the Indigenous Peoples of Korea').
At the beginning of the festival, more than 200,000 visitors visited the event. But the numbers have grown to over a million each year since 2006.
As a result, the festival has expanded to include more events at night. One of the highlights of the event is 'Barehanded Sancheoneo Fishing.' This entails catching a sancheoneo in five minutes or less by jumping into a specially-cut ice pond.
